As a USA Volleyball affiliated academy, our athletes have the opportunity to play in local, regional, and national competitions. AVA is a member of the Garden Empire Volleyball Association (GEVA) and is based on Long Island, New York.

AVA offers a Club Volleyball Program, Clinics for various skill levels, a competitive junior doubles program, and summer camps.

Club Season - Teams

Club volleyball is the essence of AVA.  This is the competitive arm of our club.  Participants tryout for a team in Sept/Oct, begin training in Dec and compete against other regional or national teams for 4-6 months after that.  AVA offers girls teams for ages 10-17 years old. Information about our tryout process and dates are posted in late August.

AVA is committed to developing the full range of skills that athletes need to succeed from technical ability to personal mindset. Through the challenge of competitive sport, we also focus on developing personal characteristics including leadership, perseverance, and confidence, which our athletes need to succeed on and off the court. We value mutual respect and emphasize the importance of respecting one’s teammates, coaches, players, opponents, referees, and spectators. We foster a supportive community and the spirit of friendship with the understanding that athletes will be most successful when they are truly enjoying their experience.

Clinics: AVA offers a variety of clinics throughout the year.

Beginner/Intermediate Players

  • These clinics have a format that caters to beginners and advanced beginners/intermediate players. The clinics include instruction on all major volleyball skills: serving, passing, setting and attacking. Players receive a solid foundation of these fundamental skills through fun and active drills, building up to team play.

Experienced Players

  • These clinics are offered in the off season for experienced players who have played and/or are planning to play club. It combines fast-paced, high-repetition practice of the foundational skills of volleyball, balanced with high intensity position-specific training in preparation for the rigor of the club season.
